Standard Chartered announced, through its Linkedin account, a bank job in UAE (Specialist Fund Accountant) according to the following:
- Daily reporting of fund accounting and transfer agency transactions to GBS IN and GBS MY
- Liaise with GBS IN for the timely delivery of the NAV report and ensure accuracy.
- Liaise with GBS MY for timely delivery of TA transactions.
- Liaise with GBS Compliance MY for timely delivery and compliance monitoring, and performance Reporting.
- Ensure the processing of client payment with proper approval without breaches of Group payment policy, and other guidelines.
- Follow up with client on the NAV approval.
- Review the generic email address of Fund Services and ensure all client queries are responded on the same day.
- Analyse and investigate all Bank reconciliations items received from GBS IN daily. Communicate corrective action on outstanding’s
- Analyse and investigate all Holdings reconciliation breaks received from GBS IN daily. Communicate corrective action on breaks.
- Liaise with auditors and GBS MY on the timely completion of client financial statements.
- Ensure the ongoing training and development
- Set appropriate tone and expectations from the teams (Hub) and work in collaboration with risk and
- control partners and have weekly hub meetings.
- Take responsibility for actions and accept Fair accountability.
- Do a total review of the processes and reduce the manual workarounds by focusing on automation.
- Review the existing processes and suggest best practices which can be implemented across the group
- No audit failures. Ensure all audits are cleared satisfactory without any major finding.
- During scheduled audits and management assurance reviews, ensure that all information required by the auditors are provided timorously.
- For Audit findings that have an impact on the area understand what actions are required to close out findings, implement required actions
- Detailed and robust plan to handle contingencies arising out of system breakdown, infrastructure.

- Ensure that there are no material operational risks.
- Review operational procedures to address key gaps leading to operational losses
- Review DOI/Checklists on a quarterly basis and amend as appropriate.
- Ensure full compliance with the Fund Services regulations at all time
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Ensure timely completion of all mandatory risk and compliance training, including e-learning by the set deadlines
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters. Contribute to a culture in which all stakeholders feel safe to raise concerns and where risk and compliance matters are addressed, and misconduct appropriately dealt with.
- Prompt and decisive action when any risk and compliance weaknesses become apparent, addressing, them in an appropriate timeframe, escalating where necessary, having carefully understood what happened and why.
- Degree in Finance/business.
- 1-2 years’ experience in investment administration and accounting.
- 2 years Custody experience.
