Achieve Sales Targets – achieve overall revenue, asset and return targets by maintaining high activity sales calling, focusing efforts on high potential segments/names, capturing large deals, earning structuring fees, and selling down large exposures to increase returns
Identity Structuring Opportunities – scan the market to identify high potential sectors and targets best suited to Mashreq’s product capabilities and structuring appetite
Formulate Deal Origination Strategy – work with the Head of Trade Finance Sales, Product Management, Trade Sales, and Coverage to develop a clear strategy to target structuring opportunities including target structures, deal criteria, deal referral process, and deal prospecting approach
Develop Account Plans – develop specific plans for high opportunity names including target opportunities, revenue potential, and action steps to capture the opportunity.
Drive the Structured Deal Pipeline – conduct regular pipeline meetings to review deal origination and structuring activity with the local Coverage and Trade Sales team to identify opportunities, deal blockers, and next steps. Conduct regular withal offshore IBG locations to ensure deals are being originated for key corridors and clients. Actively engage with Credit, IB Distribution Desk, FI Partners, Legal, Compliance, Ops and Technology to ensure deals can be supported
Deliver High Quality Deal Structures – work with Coverage, Product and Credit to identify the best fit solutions for clients and the bank considering client needs, the Bank’s risk appetite, and the various risk mitigation and structuring tools at your disposal. Advocate for product enhancements and Technology, Ops and Risk model changes where necessary to improve solutions and win deals
Drive Revenue Realization – monitor facility utilization, help remove client roadblocks to achieving utilization, and monitor overall revenue growth. Conduct regular look backs to identify under achievement of revenues or over inflation of expected revenues
Transition Replicable Structures – package structured solutions that can be resold with limited further structuring and train the Trade Sales for commercialization. Prepare materials, training and provide ongoing coaching and subject matter expertise
Identify Product Innovation Opportunities – provide regular feedback on client needs and product gaps to the Product Management Team and gather information on competitor offerings. Maintain lists of potential clients for new products or enhancements across the team to support the business case for new services that will support structured trade solutions
Leverage Team Capabilities – develop strong working relationships with other members of the Structured Trade Solutions team to leverage structuring skills and knowledge and support origination and referral across key sales corridors.
